How does it work?

For our Osaka tour, you can choose between several itinerary options. Depending on your interests, you can choose the options that suit you best. You can choose 3/4 options for the 6-hour tour and 4/5 options for the 8-hour tour. If during the tour it turns out you have time left, the guide will suggest an extra destination on the spot.

Osaka is a modern harbor city that is known for its castle and its gritty city parts. It is also famous for the urban gourmet scene, as Osakans have a love for delicious savory bites enjoyed in small, specialized shops. This is also why we recommend mixing sightseeing spots with foodie destinations for our Osaka tour customers.

Osaka highlight tour itinerary options

*Osaka Castle and Park: this rebuilt concrete castle a great chance to learn more about this history of Osaka, and the gardens make for a pleasant walk.

*Sumiyoshi Taisha shrine: not so crowded and with some great photo spots for a traditional atmosphere, this is one of the best shrines to visit in Osaka.

*Osaka Museum of Housing and Living: a great activity on a rainy day, this museum has a replica of Osaka’s 19th century streetscape.

*Umeda Sky Building: besides being an architectural art piece, the view from this building is the best in the city. Please note that there is an additional entrance fee for the viewing deck.

*Nipponbashi Denden town: this is the ‘Akihabara of Osaka’, because you can find many electronic stores here, and small shops selling all kinds of nerdy hobby paraphernalia.

*Kuromon (food):  if you are not visiting a market elsewhere in Japan, Kuromon is a must-see. All of Japan’s favorite delicacies are on display, and yes, you can try some small snacks.

*Dotonbori district (food): Dotonbori is foodie heaven, with a lot of small restaurants serving mainly delectable snack foods.

*Shinsekai: this colorful area is best visited after dark when the neon signs are on an the restaurants are open. Visiting this neighborhood gives you the feeling you traveled back to the 1980s.

*Hozenji Yokocho (food): tiny covered walkway with small traditional Japanese eateries that are best visited with someone who speaks Japanese and understands the rules. You can also just stop by for some otherworldly photos at night.

*A single session at the Bunraku Puppet theater: another good activity for a rainy day, and very interesting for theater lovers. It is possible to only watch one play for an affordable price.
