Kamakura LOPIFIT and Tea Tour (4 hours)

Why not discover the charming seaside town Kamakura by LOPIFIT bike after enjoying a Japanese tea ceremony? This tour will let you experience both in one afternoon!

Kamakura LOPIFIT and Tea Tour itinerary

After arriving at the meeting point in Kamakura, you will first enjoy a Japanese tea (matcha) ceremony with a specialist in kimono and explanations in English. The tea ceremony takes place on a 12-tatami mat room in a large apartment. This traditional Japanese tea ceremony comes with traditional sweet Azuki ‘okashi’. For those who are interested we also have a selection of kimonos for sale from 1,500 yen to 8,000 yen which were all sourced and made in Japan.

After the ceremony we will enjoy a casual cup of tea or coffee at a table overlooking the sea and park before a stroll around Kamakura all the while you can have a cozy chat about life in Japan with a Dutchman who has lived here for 23 years with his Japanese wife.

Then it is time for the second part of the tour where you will get to experience riding a unique type of electric bike. You will either ride the Netherlands-made Lopifit, an electric bicycle without pedals. Walking upright on a treadmill, you can speed up using gears just like in the gym. Or you will ride the Japanese ‘step bike’ which is like walking up a flight of stairs standing up and is made in Yamaguchi, Japan.

We start off with 15 minutes of practice at the beginning of the coastal road we will follow, which is a road for pedestrians and cyclists so we will not go through car traffic. There is a very nice view of Enoshima and (if weather conditions allow) Mount Fuji. Here, we can walk around for photos and sit on an air-sofa with a cup of tea/coffee. If the weather cooperates we can make some drone movies for everyone. When you return, bikes can be swapped if so desired.
