Your guide will pick you up in your hotel in Kyoto or Osaka and take you to Nara to show you the best this city has to offer. These are the highlights that you will visit on this Nara tour.

 

*Isui-en garden: one of the most beautiful Japanese landscape gardens in the country, it is a piece of art in horticulture.

*Todaiji temple: this Buddhist temple is the tallest wooden structure in the world, the current version was built in the late 17th century, and its architecture and statues will definitely impress you.

*Nara park: this is the place where many deers walk around freely begging people for special deer crackers that are for sale here. They surely make for cute pictures!

*Kasuga Taisha shrine: this Shinto shrine belonged to one of the most powerful clans in the history of Japan, and is famous for the many donated lanterns around the temple area.

*Naramachi: this is the heart of Nara with pretty little shops and a cozy streetscape. Perfect for some browsing and souvenir shopping!

*Uji (8 hours): green tea lovers should not skip this famous tea town with picturesque streets, the famous Byodoin temple, and the optional matcha-making workshop.

The difference between a 6-hour tour and an 8-hour tour is simply that you will have more time to visit each spot on the itinerary on the 8-hour tour, or if time allows, the guide can include an extra stop like Uji on the itinerary.
