You will pass through Tokyo’s eastern neighborhoods while really feeling the atmosphere of the city as you see locals going about their daily lives. Tokyo bicycle tour itinerary

 

Your experienced private guide will navigate you through the backstreets expertly and tell you more about the metropolis’ history and culture at the stops you will make. You will also have the opportunity to taste some of Tokyo’s most delectable delicacies on the way! The tour is around 20 km long and lasts around 6 hours.

 

Depending on the day, start points will alternate so the order in which you will visit the different spots may be different.

 

*Toyosu and Tsukishima: in Toyosu, local parents and kids go about their daily life in this bicycle-friendly water-rich area that is popular with young families. Then you will cycle through Tsukishima, a charming old-style area that is famous for its monjayaki restaurants, Tokyo’s version of okonomiyaki.

 

*Kyu Shiba Rikyu Garden: a stop will be made at this wonderful little garden that used to belong to a noble family, and now makes for a perfect background for (wedding) pictures.

 

*Tsukiji: the former home of the wholesale market, this area is still known for the great street food options. You will taste some of Tokyo’s freshest snacks.

 

*Ningyocho: Tokyo’s old doll district is still charming, and has some more snacks to try.

 

*Asakusa: one of Tokyo’s highlights, you will stop and explore in this traditional-style area with the impressive Sensoji temple as its central point.

 

*Ryogoku: known as sumo town for being home to most of Japan’s sumo stables and the sumo stadium. You will make a short stop at the stadium and with some luck, you might catch a wrestler on his daily business.
