Hiroshima has a tragic history from which much can be learned, but that’s not all there is to see in this western city. A beautiful Japanese landscape garden, a delicious local lunch, and a hillside temple; you will have a full day of impressions in this interesting city. Hiroshima Highlights tour itinerary

 

The first place you will visit is the beautiful Shukkei garden, where you will find miniature landscapes with a little imagination, and you can take some wonderful pictures.

 

After that, the tragic history of Hiroshima will be discussed in the Peace Memorial Park, where you will visit the Atomic Bomb Dome and the impressive museum. The guide will give you even more background to what you see than what you can already read.

 

Then it is time for a real local lunch, okonomiyaki. This Japanese version of a pancake originated in the aftermath of the war, when people had to cook with whatever was available. Nowadays, it is made from quality ingredients and is a favorite dish of young and old.

 

Then you will continue to Mitaki temple, which is not just a temple but more like a mini-hike in a natural area tucked away in a foresty pocket on the edge of the city. It is the perfect place to spend the last hour of the tour, while your guide explains to you what you see and shows you the hidden spots.
